i need to work out child custody issues this coming year.. do any of you folks know when this summer's convention will be held for portland, oregon, usa?
It really makes it difficult when jobs require such an advance notice of Summer vacation times.....
I need to work out vacation times with the Ex. I'm sure he'll want to drag them to the convention.
I appreciate any news, if anybody has heard of the dates. I know that the Kingdom Ministries (?) has published them in the past, and they review the dates during their "Service Meetings".

can you still be "friends" with someone you broke up with?
I had a very good friend/buddy relationship with my ex. But we always ended up having sex (which was the best part of our relationship), and I found it wasn't the most mentally healthy relationship, plus it kept me from moving on with my social life. I broke the tie with him, and since then I found I have more time to move on and perhaps find a healthier relationship with a more suitable and decent man.
I don't feel it's very healthy to maintain a friendship with an ex right after the break-up.....It wreaks havac on your mind. I do believe you could be friends again, after you both move on, and then reconnect.
i remember when they would discourage kids from taking colors or coloring books to the meetings.
so i thought ok, i will give my kid a pen and my book of bible stories to keep him busy.
then they said that was a bad idea because he might write on the furniture and it wasnt good to teach them to write on the wbt publications.
I would just bring Cheerios in a baggie or a small Tupperware tub and their sippie cups...kept them entertained and it did the trick. I didn't care what everybody else thought about letting them eat during the meetings. They actually did pretty good during the meetings..

I had a low self esteem during the time I was a JW, but since I left my self esteem has raised tremendously! During that time I carried a lot of guilt and shame, feeling that I wasn't living to Jehovah's standards. Now, I am much more confident in myself and am proud to be where I am in life. I have goals that haven't been met yet, but I know if I really set my mind to it I could reach those goals. But one thing I know for sure, I have grown so much more as an individual with a much richer personality.
the first poster that i ever met was philo.. we'd traded a few stories via the site and i realised that we knew some of the same people down in portsmouth.. he was very cagey as to his real identity, but eventually we shared emails and he told me all about himself.
one day, i took hl down to portsmouth to see my daughter who lives there.
i'd mentioned it in a post, that i was going in that direction.
I met Seven006, then Onacruse & Bikerchic.....and a few after that at meet-ups and Dakota Red's house.
this is my baby grand daughter, her name is aunna.
she turned a year old three days ago when i shot these photos.
the good looking guy is my oldest son nathan, her daddy.

Our local newspaper has an article about the "The Worst & Best of Everything" for 2003. Prince is on there as one with the Worst Career Move. He ("A Committed Jehovah's Witness")a was found knocking on the front of a Minneapolis couple trying to convert them! The woman said, "Left us a pamphlet. He didn't do anything wrong. He was kind." Prince they left in a waiting car and didn't appear to stop at any other houses.
It must have been toward the end of the month.....had hurry and put some time in.
